Further Information: VCAC's Costume Closet is home to many unique items that have a colourful history such as a cape bought in Eaton's in Montreal before Eaton's built its Winnipeg store, a man's black wool bathing suit that was bought in England before 1910, authentic military uniforms worn in World War II, a five-piece maroon wedding gown worn in 1900, flapper dresses of the 1920s, and circular poodle skirts of the 1950s. The collection also contains many character costumes for use at Halloween or masquerade events.
